How to convince people at work
Coworkers and managers usually resist your new ideas. If it is necessary to absorb people’s agreement, you have to have the ability to convince them. There are several tips to get coworkers on the board:
Be reasonable
Use obvious facts. When your idea is based on the accepted needs and necessities of your office you get their attention. Using touchable facts makes people curious about your arguments.
Bandwagon effect
People won’t accept anything unless they see other people are supporting it. That’s called the “Bandwagon effect”. So what you need is to let others know some other people are excited about your idea.
Win-win situation
If people think that your idea is just about better work conditions for you, they will back off. Inform them how your idea benefits them personally and the entire company as a whole.
